Waterline tie-ins for the new Jackson Street (north)/Hwy. 49 12-inch waterline are scheduled for the next two weeks. This is expected to create water service disruptions for some customers on Jackson St., North Dr., Circle Dr., and Foil St. Here is the schedule that has been provided by the utility contractor is as follows (weather permitting):
- Tuesday, Sept. 29: North Drive (may affect customers between N. Main Street and Jackson Street between 8am and 4:30pm)
- Wednesday, Sept. 30: Jackson Street (north of Hwy. 49) domestic service tie-ins (will cause brief disruptions to customers Jackson Street north of Hwy. 49 between 8am and 4:30pm)
- Thursday, Oct. 1: Water Treatment Plant tie-in (no disruptions anticipated)
- Friday, Oct. 2: Circle Drive (may affect customers on Circle Drive between Jackson Street and Crestwood Drive, but could also affect Foil Street between 8am and 4:30pm)
- Monday, Oct. 5: Foil Street (may affect customers on Circle Drive between Crestwood and Foil Street and all of Foil Street 8am and 4:30pm)
- Tuesday, Oct. 6: Jackson Street tie-in to Hwy. 49 and Crestwood Drive (west) (service disruption possible for Jackson St., Foil St. , Circle Drive between 8am and 4:30pm)
- Wednesday-Friday Oct. 7-Oct. 9: Restoration and Clean-up (no service disruption anticipated)
The sequencing of tie-ins and valve location should avoid disruption to the surrounding neighborhood (Pine St, Valley Drive, Crestwood Drive (east), and North Drive east of Jackson St.) and the Elementary School. However, valves on the existing line are old and there occasionally issues with line isolation. The Town will provide updates as soon as they are made aware of any changes or issues.
